Gregor Torkar, education specialist at the University of Ljubljana, will deliver the keynote speech.

The conference will also include three panel discussions:

  • Exploring the SOD example from different perspectives;
  • Formal (in curricula) climate change education in the Alpine countries;
  • Informal climate change education in schools in the Alpine countries.

The morning of 29 September is foreseen for break-out sessions for participants to discuss lessons learned. Inputs will be gathered for the Slovenian Presidency's recommendations on climate change education for the XVIII Alpine Conference. The conference will close at lunchtime.

The conference is aimed at education stakeholders in the fields of climate change, sustainability and the environment, teachers, education authorities, individuals in charge of programme planning in regional and national administrations, and other interested stakeholders.
